Is it worth skimping on wedding photography? Avoid paying TWICE...

Wow! I just spoke to someone who wants to retake her wedding photos. Now this is not the first time I have been hired to do this but is it becoming the norm? Ever wonder why you never saw your friends professional wedding pics...

Wedding photography is one of the most (if not THE MOST) important thing to consider when planning a wedding. The photos are all you have when celebrating your anniversary each and every year.

Based on SnapKnot, wedding photography averaage is $2814 in the US. San Francisco tops the list at an average of $3931.

Many do not understand why photography in itself cost so much, especially wedding photography. Well, it's because professional equipment is very expensive. It's because while photographers love what they do, it's a lot of WORK. There is a ton of PRESSURE to make sure a MOMENT is not missed while anticipating the next. Then, after the wedding is over, the photographers job continues. Kind of like going thru all your wedding gifts and having to write Thank You's to everyone. On average, post processing can take 2-3 additional hours of work for every hour spent shooting.

When it comes to planning the wedding budget, make photography top priority. There is nothing worse than not being able to share the photos you invested in because you just don't like them. You can always reenact the day and take the photos over but then you end up paying for your photos TWICE.
